Outrageous Courage: A Book Review

Outrageous Courage: What God Can Do with Raw Obedience and Radical FaithOutrageous Courage with Kris Vallotton and Jason Vallotton is an inspiring true story of Tracy Evans, a physician assistant living in the jungle of Mozambique, caring for over 900 HIV-positive orphans.

Tracy Evans was an angry teenage runway, living in her car and then on the streets of Los Angeles before finding her way into the military to find some sort of “security.”  Little did she know that she would find her security through her own commander, who led her to the Lord.  But becoming so passionate in her newfound faith only led to her being discharged through early retirement from the only place she had found any stability.  She was forced to stay in the United States for five years under her military requirements, but God used that time to mold her and educate her to serve Him.

Tracy soon began immersing herself in the dark underbelly of Los Angeles, seeking to win drug lords and prostitutes to Christ.  Through it all, she simply asked in faith and received God’s power.

Once she was released for travel outside of the U.S., Tracy launched herself into ministering in the most difficult, war-torn countries around the world – including the Philippines and Mozambique.  Through her life story, Tracy has won guerrilla warriors to Christ, saved countless orphans, and encouraged believers who were living as unbelievers.

If you want to be inspired in your faith, take the time to read this book.  I have been challenged to live a life full of adventure, expecting the greatness of God to carry me!
