The Breath of Dawn by Kristen Heitzmann had me on the edge of my seat! Her depiction of characters, settings, events, and even emotions was so descriptive that I felt connected to the characters. She even described some very personal scenes without being disgustingly descriptive.
Quinn Reilly is new to town, hiding from a past that can only hurt her and those who know her. But what was left unfinished will eventually find her and threatens to destroy the life she has made for herself. Hiding in a small town, Quinn finds her online auction business leading her to a mysterious, old house and into the lives of the Spencer family – specifically Morgan Spencer and his two-year-old daughter, Livie.
Morgan Spencer had it all – fame, riches, a beautiful wife, and an infant daughter. But one fateful day, all of that changed, leaving behind a man unable to love anyone beyond his family. But when he meets the sweet-natured Quinn Reilly, he suddenly finds himself constantly trying to protect her. But not knowing her past, is Morgan endangering everything he has lived to protect?
Can two people who have lost their ability to trust and love help each other heal? Where is God in the midst of it all?
Heitzmann is a wonderful author! I never knew what to expect at every turn and found myself fully involved in the story. I definitely look forward to reading more from this author!
