Over the last few weeks, we have enjoyed listening to Smart Kidz Radio: Member’s On-Demand Radio Program Library from Smart Kidz Radio.
This radio program is a wonderful change from our usual Pandora-listening. I was comfortable leaving the room and allowing the children to choose any of the stations provided for their enjoyment. This radio program is not just easy listening; it’s also educational. And I can trust the content because it is Christian-based.
My daughter especially enjoyed the Smart Kidz Storytime Program. She loves listening to stories, and this program was easy for her to listen to while I spent time with her older siblings working on their schoolwork.
Since we are currently studying the American Revolution in our social studies unit, it was a great addition to listen to America’s Heritage in Song Concert by the Smart Kidz Boys Choir. And I love that we have the option of listening to Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech when we are studying about civil rights. My children learn about Dr. King each year on his holiday, and I am always trying to find a good resource for his speech.
We also enjoyed listening to our Favorite Bible Sing-along Songs as a break from our studies. I love that my kids can learn the songs that I have always loved!
There are so many great programs to choose from–Early Learning, Living Skills, Smart Kidz Classroom, an Intro to World Music. There’s a Spanish program, which introduces children to Spanish words and phrases. The Music to Study By program was great to listen to when I was trying to get the children to all calm down and work on their lessons. There’s even a program for helping with math and reading skills!
I love that there are so many different options for each kid. And there are new programs constantly being added. Unlike a regular radio station, each station has a playlist, so you can jump around and choose which songs you want to listen to instead of being at the mercy of the DJ. I’m looking forward to the movie themes that is set to be released soon!
Smart Kidz Radio: Member’s On-Demand Radio Program Library is very affordable for just $4.99/month and offers over 2,000 songs and stories for kids (according to their website). The amount of material you receive for less than $5/month is definitely worth it!
But if it’s not enough to be excited about a music program that offers educational and inspirational programs for kids, I also love the fact that Smart Kidz Radio donates 20% of its membership fees to its Smart Kidz Foundation. This foundation supports programs that give kids the opportunity to change the world for the better by following after their dreams. The purpose of the foundation is to support those programs that provide resources and education for kids who want to learn more about serving others, protecting the environment, and learning self-confidence, compassion, and respect. According to the foundation’s page, “The Smart Kidz Foundation’s mission is to encourage young people to make a difference in their own lives, the lives of others, and in the global community.” That’s definitely a cause worth getting behind!
