Valentine’s Week

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I am so in love with my husband and daughter!  There was a time when I thought I would never get married and never have a family, and now I am so blessed to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the two most important people in my life!  Even if you don’t have someone special to celebrate Valentine’s Day with, remember that you have a heavenly Father Who loves you and knows you better than anyone else ever could!  The only Valentine He wants from you is your heart; it’s that simple!

Here’s a glimpse of how we have been celebrating Valentine’s Day this week!

We started out the week in Tot School, learning about the color red.  If you ask Hannah, that is her new favorite color!

Tuesday, we made a Valentine for Daddy by dipping Hannah’s thumbs in finger paint and using her thumb prints to make hearts.

Wednesday, we headed to our favorite restaurant, Chick-Fil-A, for the weekly Toddler Time, where we made heart-shaped lollipops!  (Those were really good!)

Then on Thursday, Hannah learned how to make chocolate candy, and we researched the history of Valentine’s Day.  (By the way, Hannah is really not allowed to have chocolate, but I did give her a little taste, since it was a project we were working on together!)

Daddy treated Hannah to a Daddy/Daughter Date at Chick-Fil-A on Thursday night.  Our Chick-Fil-A does an excellent job with community projects, and they didn’t disappoint on this night either!  Jamie said they were seated by someone at linen tables that had question cards – one for the daughters to ask the dads and vice versa.  They were served from menus and treated to free dessert.  And to top off the night, they gave each Daddy/Daughter a free picture of their night with a balloon and carnation for the kids.  Hannah talked about it nonstop to me when they got home!

We finally finished off the week with a wonderful Valentine’s Day party with our Mommy and Me group at church!  There were food, games, and crafts – such fun!

But my absolute favorite part of the week was the snow we finally received tonight!  Hannah and I had such a blast playing in the snow, and we really had a wonderful week together!

How are you celebrating Valentine’s Day with your little ones?  It’s so easy to make them feel loved without spending a lot of money!  Have a safe and happy Valentine’s Day!
